Phil Hughes remembered - Junior Fourth Round Match Reports Day 2

We travelled to Belgrave for the second week of our two day game, in light of the Phil Hughes tragedy both teams lined up along the pitch, along with the parents where we all had a quick chat about it. We all then had a minutes silence, both of the coaches encouraged the kids to play cricket as they normally would, Belgrave finished their 40 overs at 5/139 our bowlers toiled hard Dylan De Silva picked up two wickets in one over and was on a hat trick, he finished with the figures of 2/8 all of our bowlers bowled and they stuck at their task very well.

We then continued our batting innings and in the spirit of our team everyone batted as we rotated our players around, Dylan De Silva continued his good game and eventually retired as to did Jack Mawdsley. Josh Hardman continued his good form with the bat and Charlie Harris and Ben Raymond remained not out and fought hard.

Luke Smith played his first game of cricket ever and acquitted himself very well, overall we finished around 7/86 with the game played in great spirit.

Just a reminder that the club Christmas party will be held this weekend on Sunday December the 7th at Windermere see Emma or the website for details.
