Club Captain Announcement 2023/24

We are delighted to announce that our club captain for the upcoming 2023/24 season is Kevin Atacador.

Kev is coming off a great 2022/23 season individually, winning the club best and fairest and the 1st XI Bowling aggregate with 12 wickets at 23.67.

Inducted as a life member in 2019, Kev always puts his hand up to help out around the club, from many years on the committee, to running trainings and giving advice to our juniors and younger players. On top of all this, he was an unofficial assistant coach for the Women’s 2XI this season, always helping out with scoring , umpiring, and with any coaching and advice they needed. For all his help and more, he was awarded the Best Clubman for 2022/23.

Kev has been at the club for over 20 years, starting in 2002/03 as a junior, and worked his way through the grades to be the first name on the team sheet every week.

We thank Karim Sadiq for his efforts as captain last season, and he will be returning to Mountain Gate next year in a different role, which will be announced shortly.
